Billy Arnold
Billy has been a coach of youth sports for over 30 years. His first coaching assignment way back in 1979 was as a head softball coach for a girls 4th-6th grade team at Artesia Park in Artesia, CA. Since than he has coached more than 600 kids on over 60 different teams.. Billy has coached middle School boys and girls’ volleyball, HS boys and girls’ volleyball, and several years of girls’ club volleyball. He was founder and director of Placer Volleyball Club in Auburn (1990-92) and San BuenaVentura Volleyball Club in Ventura(1993-96). Billy has also coached 4th-8th grade girls softball and basketball as well as 10U, 12U & 14U girls soccer. Billy has also served many years as Treasurer for the Auburn Youth Soccer League, Treasurer and Past President of the East Ventura Optimist Club, Chapter Director for the National Youth Sports Coaches Association, and is a Certified Double Goal Coach thru the Positive Coaching Alliance. Billy is Impact Certified and CAP Certified thru United States Volleyball Association. Billy has served as a Director of Channel Islands for 15 years and this is his16th season being involved with the Channel Islands Volleyball Club as director, coach or parent. This will be his 18th visit to the annual Volleyball Festival. Billy has been married to his wife Kathy for 38 years. They have been long time members of Ventura Missionary Church. Billy has served as an Usher, Deacon and Trustee at VMC. Billy and Kathy have two daughters, Danyelle and Mandy. Danyelle and her husband Kevin have one son, Fallon. Danyelle played soccer and basketball at Placer High School in Auburn, CA. Mandy and her husband Leo have two daughters, Isabella and Adrianna. Mandy played volleyball and basketball at Buena High School and volleyball at Cerritos and Whittier Colleges. Mandy is the Head Coach at Ventura College and serves as a coach and director for CI . Billy owns and operates a small CPA practice in Ventura when he is not playing volleyball, basketball or entertaining his precious twin granddaughters Isabella and Adrianna. Billy still has the same love of sports and passion for the youth that he felt that first coaching assignment some 30 years ago. He is already enjoying being involved in the sports activities of his grandchildren.
