**** There have been a few changes in the management team of CI. Some of our prior directors and coaches are no longer associated with Channel Islands Volleyball Club. Those of us that remain here at CI are busy planning for this season. We have added some very qualified coaches to our staff and have put in place a few program changes that will greatly benefit our players. We look forward to providing our players and their parents with the quality club volleyball experience they have come to expect over the years. CI has been the oldest and largest club in Ventura County serving the community since 1982. We hope that you will continue to provide the support to our program that you have in the past. Please consider us before committing to any other club, you will not be disappointed. In fact you will see that we are able to provide all that you will need in a competitive club environment, with all the bells and whistles, at a cost greatly below our competitors' that offer similar experiences. Please check back in the next few weeks and we will have our tryout dates and times posted. Please click here for a tryout flyer.

Congratulations to all of our teams that just completed their 2010 club season. What a great year it has been. Our two boys teams did great at the 4 day Anaheim Boys Classic in mid June. Our two 12s and under teams learned a lot this year and were very competitive in the tournaments they attended this year taking 1st place in a few of them. We took 9 girls teams to the annual Volleyball Festival in Phoenix and what a great time was had by all. Please check out the photos on the Events/Festival page. Special thanks to Dave Betran for running around all week and taking pictures of all of our teams. We had a great pool party, bbq and outdoor movie night at the Embassy Suites in Phoenix the night we arrived and our Annual Club Banquet and Karaoke Contest the next night was a tremendous success. The teams really tried to out do each other in the contest. Congrats to the 15Premier team, winners of the team Karaoke this year. Big congratulations to Mike Hertenstein and his 14 Premier team for the highest finish at the festival for our club. Runners up were the 18 Premier and the 15 Premier.

Article from the Ventura County Star
Also, congratulations to Allie Eason and Kelsey Phipps for advancing to the CIF Semi Finals in Softball. Below is the write up in ESPN Cal High Sports about Allie's game winning heroics.
Allie Eason, Buena (Ventura, Calif.)
Just a simple stolen base normally isn’t enough to get you listed in our weekly stat stars but in the top of the 13th inning against Ocean View she stole home for the game’s winning run in a 2-1 victory in the CIFSS Div. IV quarterfinals.
Allie and Kelsey we are very proud of your off court accomplishments

American Sports Center
This year the staff at the American Sports Center (ASC) has decided to charge an entry fee to player families to enter the gym to watch games. This decision was completely against the wishes of both SCVA and Volleyball Clubs across Southern California. SCVA asked that all clubs explain to parents/families that this decision was not theirs but came from ASC staff.
Fees: Adults - 3.00 and Seniors - 2.00 Players, Coaches and Club Directors will not be charged.
